Joaninho began his musical journey in 2009 at the age of 12, delving into jazz and guitar courses at the Conservatorio de Caldas da Rainha, Conservatorio de Fátima, and Orfeão de Leiria. His passion for music ignited early, spurring him to pursue further education in the field.

Driven by his love for music, Joaninho pursued higher education, completing both a bachelor's and a master's degree in the field. Today, he stands as a professional musician, wholly dedicated to his craft.
Notable Achievements
In 2011, Joaninho gained recognition as a finalist on the SIC talent show "Portugal's Got Talent" as a member of the band "Feedback" being only 14 years old. Two years later, he released the CD "Caravela (GDA nº 172/2014)" with his original band, "Sangue Lusitano", of which he was a founding member, composer, and guitarist.
In 2014, he clinched victory in the international guitar competition "Play for LA", sponsored by SHURE, along with other prestigious music awards such as "geração arte" and "talento em movimento".
Educational Background
Ever keen on honing his musical skills, Joaninho obtained a degree in "Jazz and Modern Music" from the Lusíada University of Lisbon in 2017. He was distinguished with the merit award as the top student of the program, achieving a final grade of 17 out of 20.
In 2021, he successfully completed a Master's degree in Jazz Teaching at the Lisbon Superior School of Music, graduating with distinction and a grade of 18 out of 20. He conducted several masterclasses on musician versatility and skills at renowned venues such as the Teatro de Torres Novas and the Conservatorio de Música de Coimbra.
In the academic year of 2022/2023, he served as a lecturer at Lusíada University of Lisbon in the Master's program in Music Therapy, teaching the course "Harmonic Instruments".
Musical Career and Collaborations
Joaninho is a talented guitarist known for his motivation, dedication to artistic creation, perfectionism, and empathy with the audience. He is one of the composers and founders of the band "The Redbeds".
In 2017, he joined the project "D.A.M.A." as a guitarist and has since collaborated with numerous artists including Tony Carreira, Sara Carreira, Mia Rose, Barbara Bandeira, Mike 11, Olavo Bilac, Nuno Ribeiro, and Anselmo Ralph.
He has graced the stages of prestigious venues across Portugal and Europe, including Coliseu dos Recreios de Lisboa, Casa da Música in Porto, Campo Pequeno, Altice Arena, Zénith (Paris), Olympia (Paris), Royal-Koninklijk Circus (Brussels), and Brixton Academy (London), among others. Additionally, he has made appearances on various television and radio programs promoting music.
